Joseph Nkandu

Mr. Joseph Nkandu is a Dual PhD / DBA Combined Program Candidate. He holds an MBA in Social Entrepreneurship and Management from the ALTIS Postgraduate School of Business and Society at the Universita Cattolica Del Sacro Cuore in Milan Italy. He also holds a Bachelor of Science in Agriculture with Honours from Makerere University in Uganda.

Mr. Nkandu is a professional within the coffee industry. He is the Founder of and Executive Director of NUCAFE an ecosystem of 215 social entrepreneurial associations and cooperatives. He is an Ashoka Fellow from the global network of social entrepreneurs. He is also the Founder of CURAD-the Consortium for Enhancing University Responsiveness to Agribusiness Development. He has had also established a coffee roasting factory at Makerere University Agricultural Research Institute Kabanyolo (MUARIK). Mr. Nkandu has authored a number of coffee books including “Building the Coffee Value Chain” using the farmer ownership model, “Sustainable Coffee Production Manual”, Managing and leading farmer organizations wisely, and is currently authoring a book entitled, “The Uganda Coffee Sector We Want.”
