Hon. Racheal Magoola

Title: Member of Parliament | Women’s representative, Bugweri District

Rachael Magoola is a Ugandan singer, songwriter, dancer, and politician. She is one of the members of Afrigo Band. In the 2021 general election she was elected to Parliament, as the women’s representative in Bugweri District, for the National Resistance Movement.

Rachel trained as a music teacher and worked for eleven years at Namasagali College and Kaliro Primary Teacher Training College, where she also served as the patroness of the music club.

Rachel Magoola’s political journey includes her role as a Member of Parliament in Uganda. Her involvement in politics reflects her commitment to social issues, particularly those affecting women and children.

In 1998, she was voted one of the 100 most influential women in Uganda and later recognized as one of the top 25 celebrities in 2001.

As an MP, Rachel continues to advocate for gender equality and youth empowerment in Uganda. Her dual career in music and politics has made her a significant figure in promoting cultural heritage alongside social development initiatives.
